Participate in Family Beyond the Binary
Community Advisory Board
This project is being informed by ongoing discussions with a Community Advisory Board, to ensure that the project remains community-led and -driven. The Board is made up of 13 non-binary individuals and meets twice a year to provide input on all stages of the project, including study design, data analysis and output production. The first Community Advisory Board meeting was held on 27th November 2025, and in the meeting we discussed the overall aims of the project and the questions to be asked in Phase 1 .
Survey Recruitment
We are currently recruiting 200 non-binary individuals (must be aged 18+ and living in the UK) to participate in Phase 1 of the study. If you’d like to take part, click here to access the survey.
The survey takes around 30 minutes to complete, and asks about different aspects of family life, including family relationships, disclosure, definitions, wellbeing, stigma and community. By participating you will be helping to further our knowledge of non-binary family life.
